After reading The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Mrs. Garrett’s English I students partnered with Mrs. Murff’s Art I-IV classes to create masks using papier-mâché. Art students will display their masks at the annual NAHS Art show on May 12 from 5-7 pm. Comparatively, Mrs. Garrett’s classes presented their masks in class and wrote detailed descriptions about the process, symbolism, and thematic connection to Shakespeare’s famous drama. NAHS promotes an interdisciplinary curriculum and is immensely proud of these students for their hard work, patience, and artistic talent.
