Certified Elementary Teacher

New Albany Elementary School has an opening for a certified teacher.  To apply, send letter of interest, resume, and copy of current teacher license to Beth Matlock, NAES Principal at bmatlock@nasd.ms.

NAMS Science Teacher

New Albany Middle School has a position opening for a Science Teacher.  Must have one of the following endorsements:  181 Biology (7-12), 188 General Sciences (7-12), or 904 Middle School Science (7-8).  Interested applicants should email a letter of interest, resume and valid Mississippi Teacher Certificate to April Hobson, NAMS Principal at ahobson@nasd.ms.  Deadline to apply:  June 14.

Media Specialist/IMAGINE Lab Coordinator/Student Government Advisor

New Albany Middle School has a position opening for a Media Specialist/IMAGINE Lab Coordinator/Student Government Advisor.  Applicants must possess a valid Mississippi Teacher License with a 440 endorsement and a strong technology background with a willingness to learn multiple pieces of technology and software.  Strong classroom management practices is preferred.  To apply, please send a letter of interest, resume, and current teaching license to April Hobson, New Albany Middle School Principal at ahobson@nasd.ms before June 11, 2024.

1. Full Time Bus Driver

Interested in becoming a bus driver.  Check out the process below.

Thank you for your interest in obtaining your bus license through the New Albany School District. After reviewing the process below, if you are interested in proceeding, please contact Lecia Stubblefield, Transportation Director at 662-539-2442.

 The process is:

  1. COMPLETE THE ELDT COURSE IN CANVAS
    1. Log into CANVAS using the instructions from your email
    2. Sign the Commercial Operator Entry Level Behind the Wheel Self Certification
    3. Sign the Course Disclaimer
    4. Complete the 10 modules and take each quiz until you pass with a minimum of 80%
    5. After completing the 10 modules, Click on ELDT Program Onliine Attestation and digitally sign
  2.  OBTAIN CDL LEARNER’S PERMIT AND LICENSE

You must obtain a Class B Commercial License with a P (passenger), S (school bus), and Air Brake endorsement

    • Download a study guide from the Mississippi Highway Patrol Website
    • Study to prepare for the test.  The Air Brake section seems to be the most difficult
    • Go to the Highway Patrol Office and take the permit test
      • Call to make sure the commercial tester is there
  • You must take an original copy of your birth certificate and a copy of your social security card.
  • By law, you must have your permit for 14 days BEFORE  we can register you for the bus driving skills test

You must attend a  4- hour Mississippi Department of Education Bus School on campus on our campus.   

  • Return to the MHP station to obtain your official license
  • We will schedule a Department of Transportation Medical Physical
  • You will be finger printed and entered into the National Drug and Alcohol Registry

Upon receipt of your license, we will reimburse you for the costs associated with obtaining the license.

Notice to Bidders

Proposals are being sought by The Board of Trustees of the New Albany School District for the purpose of securing the most cost-efficient way of connecting our schools and remote buildings to our District’s Internet connection in order to provide Internet access to all of our district’s students and staff. We are also looking for qualifying bids to provide our district internet access. We want pricing for 2 gigs through 5 gigs or Download and Upload Direct internet access speeds. All bids must be submitted to the Office of the Superintendent by February 21, 2024 at 2PM.
