Hello New Albany!  Now is the time for the weekly news about what goes on at New Albany High School!  February is already off to a busy start for many. Seussical the Musical was definitely a musical that you didn’t want to miss.  The production was February 3-5. I hope all of you had the opportunity to see the talented students perform. Special thanks goes to Sylvia Nanney, Mary Beth Muncie, Lee Ann Thompson, Jim Muncie, Brooke Dillard, and Carrie Crain. The list of those who made the musical possible goes on and on.

On January 27th, NAHS TSA (Technology Students Association) members attended regional competition in Booneville. Students had the opportunity to compete in numerous technology related competitions.  Students who attended were:  Riley Alef, Emilee Bennett, Mattie Carter, Darren Cheairs, Spencer Day, Roderick Erby, Donte Ferrell, Josh Hardin, William Harding, Nick Isbell, Jack Mason, Mason Maxey, Shelby Newell, Cierra Peak, McKinley Ranager, and Shaun Vaughn. Congratulations to the winners : 1st place: Digital Video Production: Riley Alef, William Harding, and Darren Cheairs; 1st place: Prepared Presentation: McKinley Ranager; 1st place: Technology Problem Solving: Spencer Day and Josh Hardin; 1st place:  Debating Technical Issues: Donte Ferrell and Shaun Vaughn; 1st place:  Promotional Graphics: Easton Hall; 2nd place: Promotional Graphics: McKinley Ranger; 3rd place: Promotional Graphics: Cierra Peak. The winners will continue to the TSA State Conference February 23-24 in Jackson, MS.  The trip was made possible by TSA Advisors Mallorie Biffle, Latrina Bynum, and Jalon Bullock.

This week the basketball team will be playing in division games.  The games are being hosted by New Albany. We would love for everyone to support them.  Powerlifting will have a North Half Meet on Saturday.  On Saturday, there will also be the ACT.  Good Luck to those who are going to be taking the test.  Another event on Saturday is Anchor Ball, which will be for those involved in the Anchor Club.

The NAHS Junior Civitans will meet on Monday, February 13 at 7:20a.m.  in the Media Center.  New members are welcome. Dues are $13 and should be paid as soon as possible. Presidents Day is February 20th so there will be no school that day.  Hope everyone has a great week!
