Zeke Listenbee, a graduate of W.P. Daniel High School (New Albany) spoke to the students enrolled in the Upstage After-School enrichment class on Tuesday, November 18.

Listenbee is currently serving as a worship pastor in the Houston, Texas area. He is also a writer, composer, and producer. He has worked with local legend Sam Mosley, as well as many widely known gospel singers.

He encouraged the students to follow their dreams, do things with a purpose, and take advantage of the many opportunities that the New Albany Schools and our community offers them.

Zeke 4Listenbee performed a song for the group that showcased his keyboard playing and vocal abilities. Then students in the group had the opportunity to perform for Zeke and get constructive feedback on how to make their performances better for upcoming events.

“What a treat for the Upstage students to hear such a remarkable guest speaker today, “ enrichment teacher LeeAnn Thompson said of Listenbee. “If we would have listed one hundred things we wanted the students to hear, he said it. And the students listened and responded.”
