NAHS BAND PERFORMS IN CHICAGO

The Pride of New Albany performed at the prestigious Field Museum in Chicago, IL on April 19 during a recent trip to the “Windy City”.   The students were welcomed with applause after performing for a large audience of museum visitors.

The group of eighty-nine students and chaperones enjoyed the weekend in Chicago and visited many of the city’s landmarks and attractions.  During their stay, the group visited the Museum of Science and Industry, The Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue and the famous Sears Tower.  They also took in shows such as Blue Man Group and Medieval Times dinner and show and saw Chicago landmarks such as Harpo Studios, The Staple Center, and Wrigley Field.

The Pride of New Albany has enjoyed many successes in the 2007-08 school year.  The Marching Band was a finalist in the 4A Grand Championships in the fall and both the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble achieved superior ratings at recent state concert band competition.  The Pride will conclude the year with a final Spring Concert on May 8 at the NAHS Auditorium.
