New Albany Middle School and the New Albany School District were represented on a national scale on September 30, 2021 as NAMS Student Body President Annsley Coleman laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C.

Coleman laid the wreath in honor of the New Albany Middle School Student Body and was assisted by her brother, Easton Coleman. Easton is a 4th grade student at New Albany Elementary School.

“The Arlington wreath laying was the most unique experience,” explained Annsley Coleman. “Everyone was so kind, and everything was perfectly in sync. I am so incredibly grateful to have had this opportunity.”

“The wreath laying is an honor reserved for Presidents and dignitaries,” explained Matt Tyer, sponsor of the NAMS Student Government.  “What a privilege it is to see history come alive like this! I’m proud of our NAMS Student Government and the impact they’re making. I’m especially proud of Annsley and the leader she is becoming.”
