Students at New Albany are back in classes after a wonderful Thanksgiving break. Over the break we had several things happen. Our basketball teams traveled to Ingomar last Tuesday. The girls team had an impressive showing in their win. As for the boys, they fought for the entire regulation forcing overtime in which they came out on top. Congrats boys and girls!
The 2012 All-Division 2-4A team was selected. Boston Newsome was selected as the 2012 Player of the Year. Austin Howard earned Defensive Player of The Year. Broderick Cook, Alex Harrison, O.J Hardin, and Brady Barnes were all named 1st Team All Division. Spencer Day, Jake McDonald, Chris Brown and “Lee Lee” Bradley were named to the Second Team All Division. Walter Smith, Chandler Nail, Danortis McWilliams, J.T Moore Jimmy Baldon and Cedric Buford revived a honorable mention. Our coaching staff was named Coaching Staff of Year. We are all very proud of the 2012 New Albany Football team and
their great accomplishments.
The soccer teams played in Pontotoc last Saturday. Both teams fell short in high scoring matches. It was a tough loss for our dogs, but we are looking forward to their season as it is just underway.
