Chandler Nail, NAHS School Reporter

Hello New Albany!  The NAHS Journalism class will be selling DVD’s of their homecoming video starting this week, cost is $5. The video will include the dress up days of the week, the homecoming court, pep rally, parade, afternoon presentation of the court, the exciting footage and WNAU version of “the kick” from the North Pontotoc game and more. We would like to thank Elizabeth Zaremba of the New Albany Gazette and Mr. Ben Creekmore for allowing our class to use their images in our homecoming video presentation. We are also appreciative to WNAU for allowing us to use their audio recording from the North Pontotoc game for our video.

WNAU is now featuring an audio version of this NAHS news every Thursday at noon and 4:00 p.m. Our students have enjoyed getting to explore this new medium in journalism and appreciate the opportunity.

See Mrs. Thompson or email us at nabulldogs@gmail.com if you would like to reserve your copy. (We also have copies of the Madea Goes to Kitchens Field pep rally available). There are homecoming t-shirts still for sale, you may contact Mrs. Thompson at 534-1805 if you are interested in purchasing one, cost is $12.

The Journalism Class hosted a reception for the W.P. Daniel Class of 1981 on Friday as part of the homecoming day celebration. Those in attendance enjoyed a luncheon and tour of the school before they were seated and recognized in the afternoon ceremony. Each year, the class hosts a reception for the class who is celebrating their 30 year reunion.  If there are members of the Class of 82 out there who may be responsible for their reunion next year, please contact Mrs. Thompson at our email address above. We really enjoy getting to meet alumni and showing them around their alma mater.

The New Albany Bulldog football team was victorious over Tunica Rosa Fort last Friday and will be at home again this next week against Lewisberg.  It will be Senior Night and the Bulldogs are sure to put on a good show so come out and support your New Albany Bulldogs!  All senior cheerleaders, football players, band members and AFJROTC members will be recognized before the game.

The Class of 2012 enjoyed going to Camp Yocona on Tuesday for their annual Senior Retreat. Next Tuesday is Meet the Bulldogs at Memorial Gym, see any member of the basketball teams to purchase your $5 hamburger supper ticket. Gifted art students will be painting faces at the Hill Country Chili Cookoff this Thursday in downtown New Albany. Children of all ages can have glamorous or gory choices for their Halloween look. Students have been practicing dramatic and horrific stage painting skills all week and look forward to this event each fall.
