Hello New Albany. I hope everyone has had a great week so far, and I hope everyone is excited about spring break coming up! I’m sad to say that this will be my last week as your New Albany High School News Reporter. But don’t fret! Patricia Wiseman will be here to update you next time. Now, back to business!

News from our counselor, Mrs. Cossey: English II Writing Test-March 24th. Report Cards will go out Thursday, March 25 , ACT Workshop is Saturday, April 3rd,  $10 Registration fee is due April 1st. All scholarship information (including web sites & deadlines) is posted on the NAHS web site under Student Services. 

The Beauty Review is April 17 at 7:00. The sign-up sheet is in the office. Registration fee of $25 must be turned in by April 2 to participate. We are also adding a Most Handsome competition with the same fee. Also, there have been 4 more winners added to the Most Beautiful competition, audience choice. The audience will be allowed to vote for their favorite contestants. Be sure to get your registration fee in to Ms. Foster by April 2, and come out to support the contestants!

Here are dates to remember in March: On the 16th, NA baseball plays at Saltillo, and plays New Hope at 2:00. The 17th: NA baseball plays at Saltillo at 4:00. On the 18th, NA softball girls play at Baldwyn (JV) at 3:00. The varsity girls play at 4:00. Then on the 18th-19th,  NA plays at East Union in the Union County Tournament. On the 19th, NA softball plays at Water Valley-1:00. Then on the 20th, NA softball plays at NEMCC. Tournament: NA vs. Wheeler at 10:00. NA vs. Biggersville at 12:00, and NA vs. Kossuth at 4:00. The softball game with Shannon which was canceled for Friday, March 12, 2010 has been re-scheduled for Thursday, March 18th with Varsity playing at 11:00 and JV to follow.

The NAHS Art classes are getting in gear for their annual art show at the Union County Heritage Museum on Tuesday, April 6. The opening reception and awards ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m., everyone is invited to attend!

We want to let everyone know that 8th Grade Parent Night is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6 in our auditorium.  This is a very informative session for both parents and students to help them transition from middle school to high school.  We will have displays in the cafeteria from each department. More information on this night will be coming soon!

You will get to see highlights of the North Half games as well as the games in Jackson. There are many students, teachers and special guests appearing in the video, check it out!
