The New Albany High School cheerleaders attended UCA Cheer Camp held at Arkansas State University June 17-20. The team brought home top honors, including Overall Game Day Routine, Overall Pyramid, and the St. Jude Spirit Award. They also earned gold ribbons in every evaluation and were recognized with daily spirit sticks. On the first day of camp, the team was awarded “The Banana” for their exceptional spirit and enthusiasm.
In addition, Caurie Clayton, Lilly Shannon, Zion Woods, Annsley Coleman, Ashley Vazquez, Bella Brown, Josie Osorio, Lizzie Moore, and Candy Ordaz were named All-American Cheerleaders. Lilly Shannon, Adeline Bailey, and Candy Ordaz received the Pin It Forward Award, chosen by camp staff and other campers for their leadership and positivity throughout camp. All nine seniors were also invited to apply for the UCA staff, which is a significant honor.
The team represented New Albany with excellence, pride, and leadership throughout the week.
