New Albany Schools Bond2018-08-24T09:56:04-05:00

New Albany Schools have continually been a source of pride for our students, our staff, and our community.  We are excited to be considered a leader in educational excellence in our region.

New Albany School District is continuing to grow.  To meet this growth and to meet expectations of the community in providing a safe and quality educational environment, renovations are required at this time.  The emphasis during the renovation process will be on security, energy efficiency, roof replacement, HVAC replacement, and student comfort.

To help with renovations and upgrades, an election will be held in September for the passage of a school bond.

How does this affect the typical family in the New Albany community?

For students, passage of the bond would result in a more modern, comfortable learning environment that they can have pride in.

For parents and grandparents, passage of the bond would provide reassurance that students are continuing to receive the highest quality education in a safe and comfortable learning environment.

For business & community leaders, passage of the bond would result in attractive school buildings and facilities that would attract more people to our area and the potential of new businesses and industries locating here.

How will this bond affect property taxes?  The bond will do a number of things but one thing it will NOT do is result in a tax increase.  How is this possible?  New Albany has experienced population growth, as well as an increase in a number of businesses.

New Albany School has also fast tracked the payoff of previous bonds; therefore, citizens of New Albany will see no increase in property taxes with this new bond.

The 2018 bond will provide renovations and upgrades at all schools to include renovations, security upgrades, and roof replacements.

Many families in our community have a great love for our schools because of the many successes experienced through academics, athletics, fine arts, and extra-curricular activities.  Help us give our students and community promise for the future as we Prepare All for Success.

We have a sense of urgency to continue providing a safe, secure, comfortable learning environment for our students so that they can continue to receive the highest quality education.

Help students, help teachers, help administrators, help your community by voting FOR the passage of the School Bond on September 25, 2018.  Voting will be held at the Union County Courthouse on Tuesday, September 25 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

educational environment. Another factor involves cost of construction. Over the past five years there have been increases
in construction cost.

of three areas. These areas include Fair, Poor, & Critical. The New Albany School District will center its focus on Poor
and Critical areas before moving on to items in the Fair category.
