The Ish-te-ho-to-pah Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to announce New Albany High School (NAHS) senior Callie Creekmore as its DAR Good Citizen for the 2009-2010 school year.
The purpose of the DAR Good Citizens program and scholarship contest is to encourage and reward good citizenship. The honor is based on the outstanding characteristics of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.
Callie is the daughter of Sam and Warner Creekmore. She is very active in school, community, and church activities. At NAHS, Creekmore is Student Body President and Journalism editor. She is also a member of National Honor Society, Anchor Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Creekmore has lettered in varsity soccer, tennis, and cross-country.
”Callie is able to manage a very loaded schedule that includes many roles of leadership,” said Lee Ann Thompson, Callie’s Journalism advisor. “Whether in athletics, academics or at church, she is looked upon as a leader by both students and adults.”
After graduation, Callie will attend college and major in biological sciences. She plans to pursue a career in medicine.
Callie has been awarded a DAR Good Citizen pin, certificate, and wallet recognition card. She has completed the application and essay process and has been entered in the state contest.
