The New Albany and Union County School Districts will begin the 2009-2010 school year on August 6 at New Albany High School with breakfast provided by BNA Bank from 7:00-8:15 a.m.

Following breakfast, the faculty, staff, and administrators will hear opening remarks from Ron Scott, Barry Male, Phil Nanney, Ken Basil, Johnny Rakestraw, Dr. Charles Garrett, Dr. Jason Dees, and Jackie Ford.

The keynote address will be by Bryan Townsend, a well-known speaker from Eureka, Alabama.  He is a member of the National Speakers Association (NSA); has earned the designation, Certified Speaking Professional; and is one of only a few public speakers that have been inducted into the NSA Speaker Hall of Fame.

Townsend is one of the nation’s most active motivational humorists, speaking to various groups all across the country on the topics, “Making Good Things Happen”, and “Hitching Up A Winning Team”.  Townsend also leads seminars on Customer Service and Teamwork.

In addition to speaking, Bryan is a professional writer.  He has written advertising copy, numerous articles and several books including: Life is An Adventure, and Making Good Things Happen.

Townsend’s background includes a successful twenty-year career in broadcasting serving as a play-by-play sports announcer, advertising salesman, talk show host, and radio station manager.
