What year did you graduate high school?
2014

What is (are) the name(s) of the vocational class(es) you completed?
Culinary Arts I and II

Where did you attend college?
I am about to graduate from Northeast Mississippi Community College. I plan on continuing my education at the University of Northern Alabama.

Please describe how the vocational class(es) you took helped you.
I learned a ton of information in the two years I was in Mrs. Alef’s classes. I can honestly say I have used everything I learned either at work or in my classes at school, from what a mother sauce is to how to work with diversity and challenge. My skills put me ahead of the game in college, so my 4.0 GPA has come with ease. In this business, you never stop learning. You come together with colleagues and classmates to create and provide a beautiful service. I did not know it then, but I wasn’t just taking a class in high school, I was finding a passion and falling in love with a career.

Please give a brief description of your career.
Currently, I am a staff trainer at Taco Bell. I have worked for Little Foods Company™ for over two years now at two different locations. I worked every position in the store except manager. I work line, drive-thru, front counter, etc. I only intend on keeping this job until I move on to UNA. Even though it is a fast food establishment, it provides learning opportunities just like an upper scale restaurant would. Like I said before, you never stop learning. Every day is a lesson.

What degree(s) and/or achievements do you hold?
I decided to double major at NEMCC, so when I graduate I will have an Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts Technology and an Associate of Applied Science in Hospitality Management Technology.

In what city do you currently reside?
I live in New Albany, MS but I am currently staying in Booneville, MS for the school year.
