The New Albany School Superintendent and Board of Trustees have initiated the first step in a long range planning process that will seek to determine and develop critical direction concerning the major issues challenging the school system as it continues to strive to provide quality education for all constituents. A strategic planning committee composed of the superintendent, board members, administrative leaders, teachers, parents, and students will be selected to develop the plan. The board of trustees has charged the committee with developing a plan that incorporates specific goals with measurable objectives and strategies. The present strategic plan was completed in the spring of 2006. Dr. Ed Grisham has been selected to facilitate this year-long planning process.

Parent, teacher, and staff input is critical. Surveys for each of these groups have been designed to obtain critical information that the committee will use to develop the long range plan. “The opinions and views of parents and teachers are very important to this process,” stated Dr. Grisham.

Teachers will receive the survey by email, while parents will find the survey on the New Albany Schools web page at www.newalbanyschools.us.   Parents will simply click on the parent survey link, and complete the short survey by Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Parents may contact Lecia Stubblefield at 534-1800 if any technical difficulties are experienced. For parents who do not have access to a computer, a paper copy may be obtained at the Central Office.
